Tried a friend's copy and had to pick it up. Just liked the ease and fun of puzzling out the mancala to build and crusade for victory points!
The production quality even on the standard edition is top notch. Was happy to pick it up before they were all gone.

If you want some laughter and a great game night experience, look no further. This is a very popular item at the table for our group.
I've introduced this game to a few groups, and while it takes some time for all players to understand, once they do, it's a lot of fun. What I dislike about the game is how few lives you have (2) in relation to the randomness of the game. It's easy for a clueless player to eliminate someone who wasn't a threat at all and let the lead person win easily without resistance if they don't understand the tactics. It's fun, but the thrill is gone after a couple of nights.
The coins are beautiful. Hefty, and well detailed. They are the perfect addition to 7 Wonders Duel and we are also using them instead of the cardboard points tokens in Everdell. The icons work well for that game as well.

Great iteration of Captain Sonar to a family-weight game that can be played beyond the convention floor. Looks great, easy to teach, tons of fun cat & mouse play. It is tricky to come back if you’re hit first but games are short enough it’s not too much of a problem. We’ll get good mileage out of this one (especially borrowing the real-time rules from the “Family” edition)
I actually bought 2 Gamegenic mats for SWU, and the printing on both is excellent. Recommended - you won't be disappointed.
The art is wonderful, and the game definitely requires some thought to plan ahead. Very enjoyable.

Whether Marvel, Star Wars, Harry Potter or Last Airbender the rising series delivers quality components and a solid co-op experience if a little challenging at times.
This makes the solo version of Ares expedition complete in my opinion. I think this game overall is better than the original personal. Not nearly as long, production quality is way better and footprint is smaller
Print quality of these are great and they really pop out and improve the theme of the game.
