It is a very underrated game. I have the first edition (Mayfair games)and played for many times. This edition has the same artwork. The original artwork was so beautiful, they probably couldn't even attempt to change it. Wooden tower pieces are identical. The only major difference is the size of the gameboard when it is folded. That makes the box size significantly smaller. It comes with two expansio s, which is a plus. One last comment, play this game with more than 3 players. With 2 players it is not as much as it is with 3+ players.
