This game brilliantly abstracts baseball to focus on the hits without getting bogged down by strikes, balls, and outs. Essentially each card you play determines what hits you will make in the inning -- unless the other player stops you. Each "game" in the series is about 5-10 minutes, so the whole World Series averages about an hour. You can add a wide variety of effects without complicating the game if you make all the Free Agents from the expansions (included in the loaded edition) available, while the Coaches and the Ballparks (also included) give you easily-added bonus effects. The solo game is exciting, too!
