Crystallo is a solo puzzle/abstract card game with a light fantasy theme. Explore the cavern lair of the wicked Black Dragon by placing cards, free six magical creatures by creating crystal sets, and, if you should succeed with that task, trap the dragon in his own cave. Collect treasure along the way, and you may emerge a wealthy champion!

Crystallo is played with a deck of 54 illustrated cards and 18 gems, and runs about 20-30 minutes.

Crystallo - Save the forest animals and fill up your table!

Crystallo is a spatial/visual style solo puzzle game. The game is entirely card based, although it comes with little plastic crystals. The crystals are used to mark the cards with colours matching the forest animals you're trying to save before squaring off with the big Black Dragon guarding them all. You place cards and try and match the 'crystals' on those cards is various formations in order to do so, and the game can become quite tricky, especially if you're trying to beat your old score.

Crystallo is quite simple in execution, although I will admit the rules are not very clear, especially when it comes to what is deemed a legal or illegal card placement movement. After watching a YouTube video though, the game became a lot 'easier' to manipulate and it clicked a bit more.

As a solo only game, (the box advertises 1+ players, but offers no ruleset for coop or multiplayer,) it can be quite relaxing and a quick little brain-burner as you try and save all the forest animals and collect as much treasure as possible to achieve the highest score.

I'm sure with minimal tweaking the game could be adjusted for another player though.

All in all it's a fun little game for what it is, if you're okay beat your own score type games and minimal but effective art in a card based game, then you will probably like this. I put it in the category of relaxing puzzles like Calico or to a certain extent Canopy, (although that is more of a card drafting game,) and for the price you really can't go wrong here.

Just be aware that outside of beating your own score there isn't a whole lot to uncover after your first couple of plays, but if you're okay with that then this game can be fun. Also it would be a great introductory game for anyone interested in getting into solo gaming.
