Third time's a charm. The company that always ships a damaged board game.

Fool me three times, and we'll keep coming back.

Board Game Bliss has become among our playing group as the great company that doesn't pack well. We have been able to find great games that are nowhere else to be found in the North-American market, but always with a caveat.

Since games are poorly packed when shipped, every time a shipment arrives, a game has been damaged in the shipping process. To the point that it has become a joke among us to guess which game will be damaged in the upcoming shipment.

On our first order 'Gorinto' came destroyed, and our request for a replacement copy was denied but a 50% refund was issued.

On our second order it was Ark Nova's turn. A damaged box arrived and our request for a replacement copy was denied but a 30% refund was issued.

This time it was 'License to Grill'. We figured this would be the damaged one, since we made the mistake of paying the extra $18 to get the premium edition that comes in a tin box (which also works as the grill of the game). Tin boxes are delicate items, and with Board Game Bliss packaging experience, we knew that License to Grill was going to be the one. Of course, the game was placed at the bottom of the order, and as usual, the only protection was the flimsy Kraft paper filling up empty spaces. The tin box was deformed, and it doesn't open or close properly, but we've been trying to chisel the deformations back to normal.

We didn't complain this time.

What can I recommend? Maybe stop trying to order the minimum $225.00 required to get free shipping? This amount of money in board games can get heavy, and the consideration of an order that weighs less than 20 pounds might be the way to go.

Nevertheless, we enjoy their games selection, their hold/merge system, and their prices, and will keep coming back, hoping that one day our items will be packed by a person that understands the way packages are treated by shipping companies, and put a little extra effort to the craft of stuffing with Kraft paper.
