Long review, but it's a pricey game..
This one has a fun story that carries the characters through a large adventure. The bosses come at predictable intervals, but that's what the game is mostly about. The
Free Company that you play consists of four characters, each with very unique back stories. Each of them brings something completely different to the table, which is refreshing. The miniatures are a really nice thing to have, but if you don't have them, the gameplay works perfectly well with standees.
The base game is quite expensive, but I have found out it's worth every penny in the length of gameplay. In the long run it's inexpensive entertainment as it goes for a long time without getting dull ( sometimes your characters are eliminated, so you get new ones to change it up).. The youtube channel 'Meet me at the Table' does a really good job of explaining both the mechanics of the game and the atmosphere... that said everybody I know who who has it, loves it. One of the best games out there.
Board Game Bliss's price is on par with buying from Shadowborne, but I find BGB much easier to work with. Shadowborne can have weird delays in delivery and doesn't always communicate promptly. Buy it here if you can :)
