Expansion for War Chest
Accessory Laserox - War Chest Organizer

The old general returned to the kingdom on the eve of the heir's tenth birthday. He brought with him a book - or rather, what looked like a book from the outside.

The queen sat down with her child the next day, and together they opened the book. They found that the insides had been carved out and filled with more coins for their game, as well as some letters and wax seals. They took their chest from the shelf, opened it, and began to play...

The chivalric system was a huge part of medieval warfare. Various offices of state were handed out to the highborn of the land, from Bannermen that surrounded kings and queens, to Earls and Heralds enacting their liege's will across the realm. Bishoprics had much land and influence associated with them, and were sought after position for nobles.

Can you add these four new influential units to your force, and use royal proclamations to your advantage, to once again triumph in this masterful game of tactical warfare?

Nobility is an expansion for the highly acclaimed War Chest. The base game is required to play.

More of what you love in War Chest

I purchased the base game of War Chest on a whim as someone who loves strategy games, but finds Chess too... simple. The strategic situations Chess brings up are never really that interesting, and with enough study, there seems to always be one right move. War Chest breaks that with its very well implemented luck, creating varied situations and battles that seem to evolve over time.

War Chest: Nobility takes what's good about War Chest and adds more! Where in the base game, the Royal Coin always felt kind of bad to draw, in Nobility, it's exciting, as it's that coin that brings into play the new Decree cards, which can shift a battle super fast if your opponent isn't paying attention. These cards create more "ahah!" moments, which is what made me love the base game in the first place.

And I haven't even talked about the new units! (They're good, and work well with the base units. None of them feel like they're too different or weird.)

Beautiful new Addition

**I have only played a demo of the production copy (SHUX 2019), as yet unreleased.
- The new units are excellent and dynamic, synergize well with the original units, and remain unique with no ability overlap. It's only 4 new units but they're a substantial add.
- The Decree/Royal Proclamation module really shakes things up. I only got to see three (among 7) but they all seem to include spicy new mechanics (i.e. view your opponent's hand, recruit twice in one turn, etc.) to shake up the formula.
- Some creature comforts!: The control markers have been updated and are now thick, hexagonal pieces that aren't obscured by the units, and the new chip tray (same dimensions, fits all pieces from both sets) has been improved with a more robust/thicker plastic.

All in all, an excellent, well considered expansion for this magnificent game. This is an evergreen title for me, and a top favourite of all time.
