Hong Kong has been struck by a large scale unexpected blackout. As the government struggles to maintain control, you decide to take matters into your own hands and try to bring back some kind of societal order! Daily life as you were used to it has quickly dissolved. Even the most mundane tasks have become incredibly challenging without electric power. Whoever best manages this situation and restores the semblance of order will surely claim a position of power in post-blackout Hong Kong!

In Alexander Pfister's Blackout: Hong Kong, you have to manage ever-changing resources and a network of various specialists to keep Hong Kong from descending into chaos while also staying ahead of your rivals.

It is an okay game

The game has simultaneous turns, which is good for pacing, but has you feeling like you’re playing by yourself a lot of the time.

The mechanisms are well done, but the boring board design and themeless of the game doesn’t draw you in.

It is a “good” game, but in an age of great games, and little time to play them, I think it is a buy fir only the avid gamer.

Underrated Hidden Gem

Pfister is one of my favorite designers. Blackout HK is one of my favorite titles from Pfister.

Great mid level strategy game

We really enjoyed the artwork in this second edition, and the flow of the game is really well done. Game has good replay ability and plays in about 2-3 hours depending on players.

Overlooked Pfister

After initial bad reactions to the dark art, this second edition fixes them and works well.

Good but not one of the best

Black Out Hong Kong is not my best game from Pfister. I prefer Great Western Trail and Maracaibo. I've got it at a good price so I'm happy about it. The mechanism with the card columns to get your hand is interesting but that's it for me.
