Expansion Charterstone - Recharge Pack

The prosperous Kingdom of Greengully, ruled for centuries by the Forever King, has issued a decree to its citizens to colonize the vast lands beyond its borders. In an effort to start a new village, the Forever King has selected 6 citizens for the task, each of whom has a unique set of skills they use to build their charter.

In Charterstone, a competitive legacy game, you construct buildings and populate a shared village. Building stickers are permanently added to the game board and become action spaces for any player to use. Thus, you start off with simple choices and few workers, but soon you have a bustling village with dozens of possible actions.

Your journey through Charterstone’s many secrets will last 12 games, but it doesn’t end there. Your completed village will be a one-of-a-kind worker-placement game with plenty of variability.

Charterstone will likely be ready for release in 2017. We will not be running a Kickstarter or pre-orders for this game; rather, we’ll announce when it’s available via our e-newsletter, and you can request it from your preferred retailer (local or online).

Ramps up!

An enjoyable campaign type game...starts out simple but gets deeper. This is our(my wife & I) second time playing this campaign but with a different group of 3 others. It's been different than the first campaign as we've unlocked some stuff a lot earlier. Overall, we are still finding the second campaign fun. As said, it does matter a lot of who's in the group you play with. I suggest getting the recharge pack as well...if you can find it. This would work really well for younger players looking for a legacy game experience.

Very simple game

The game looks gorgeous but the mechanic is way too simple and each game feel the same.

Lighthearted fun

The cartoony style of this game matches the lighthearted story and game play. We enjoyed the bumping mechanism with the worker placement. Brings a different kind of tension. 6 games into the campaign and enjoying our experience.

Pleasant to play, but not satisfying in the end

I played through the whole campaign with 6 players. The game has a decent build-up and some good laughs along the way, but ultimately proved to be rather lighthearted and insubstantial. Worker placement games are generally pretty mean and cut-throat. People take the spaces you need, choking your strategies and generating tension. This game works the other way around. You actually WANT people to take your spots so that you can get your workers back. It's a much friendlier game, but unfortunately the game loses all its tension as a result. Also, the story was very forgettable.

I enjoyed my time in Charterstone mostly because of the group I played with. I have no desire to revisit the game now.
