Expansion Commissioned: The Call

Commissioned is a 2-6 player cooperative-style board game with a simple deck-building mechanism that plays in 1 hour. Players are the early Christian Apostles and must work together to mature their faith decks, grow the church, collect the books of the New Testament, and overcome persecution. You do not need to know anything about Christianity to play. The game includes five scenarios that cover the first 150 years of church history, two difficulty levels, and a one-vs-all variation.

Good for old and young alike

I plan on playing this with my kids to help them understand the culture and the challenges that the early apostles had but the game is super solid and plays really well. Honestly you could put a different theme on it and it would stand up with its solid mechanics. Tough to find this one anymore though.

Finally, a smart engaging Christian game

Though I've not yet played. Based solely on vids, I do own it.

It is so hard to get solid Christian themed products that are more than just a sale of a theme, or weak on mechanics.

This game seems to have built a game with solid, well known mechanic that are meant to challenge those of a certain conviction, and because of that can also appeal to a gamer community even if they don't (yet) prescribe to that theme personally.

Well done.

Top Historical/Biblically based co-op game

This is a fantastic co-op game. It takes the best game mechanics and combines them well into an interesting thematic experience. It uses Pandemics co-operative style in reverse and Dominions (also Dale of Merchants) deck building actions. I was surprised not to see it in the Top Co-operative Play Games section. I have seen reviews from people that don't have a religious affiliation and find it to be high ranking as well. Any Christian gamer should consider this one.
