Nanty Narking Deluxe Edition is the limited edition of a Victorian board game of wit and podsnappery by British game designer Martin Wallace. Immersed deeply in the world of Dickens's and Doyle's literature, all game locations, events, and characters are now tied to real and fictional characters and places in Victorian London.

The action takes place on the map of London, with players placing their followers and buildings on the board through card play. Each of the 132 cards is unique, and feature famous literary and historical characters. The rules are relatively simple: Play a card and do what it says. Most cards have more than one action on them, and you can choose to do some or all of these actions. Some cards also allow you to play a second card, so you can chain actions. At the beginning of the game, each player draws a secret personality with specific victory conditions, which means you can never be sure what the other players need to do in order to win.

In Nanty Narking Deluxe Edition, you will find simple game rules, deep and immersive gameplay, a strong theme, and beautiful components.

Awful, chaotic, swingy luck-fest.

One of the worst games I've played, which was very disappointing since the board & components and (most of) the art looked so cool. Great theme, too, but the game is just a chaotic mess. No strategy, and barely any tactics; Random Events are so unfair. Anything you do & any progress you make can just be randomly wiped out due to dumb luck card-draws. Not a satisfying game to win OR lose. Not at all about clever gameplay; just a tedious, tug-of-war slog where you just keep undoing other players' progress & they do the same to you, until a Random Event skews things wildly & unfairly in someone's favor. Looks so neat, I really wanted to like it, but we barely even wanted to finish our first & only game of it. First turns were fun, but the flaws quickly appear, and make for a very boring, pointless, bad game.

A Great Game!

Nanty Narking is another outstanding game by designer Martin Wallace. Easy to learn, but still with condiderable depth. The components and artwork are absolutely beautiful. Tons of fun in a game that oozes Victorian atmosphere, especially if you also buy the amazing metal coins.
